Today, more than 250 million people worldwide are affected by diabetes. By 2025, that number is expected to be 380 million. Every year, 3.8 million people die from diabetes-related causes.
Presently, there are more than 3 million Canadians living with diabetes and a further 6 million Canadians living with prediabetes. More than 20 people are diagnosed with the disease every hour of every day.
